The Black Stone Corruption

Something must have happened after the death of prophet Muhammad.

It seems that a combination of factors have led to the hijacking and corruption of Islam from within.

The ‘Black stone’

All throughout the Qur’an, God commands us to stay away from stone and altars, yet during the visit to the Ka’bah, and at one of its corners, Muslims from all over the world push and shove their way ferociously to get to what is called ‘the Black Stone,’ in order to touch it and kiss it, believing that the stone has the power to heal them, save them or bless them.

If this is not idolatry, I do not know what is.

Not surprisingly, this ritual has no sustenance in the Qur’an whatsoever, but originates instead from a corrupt ‘hadith’ stating that this stone was descended from heaven since the time of prophet Ibrahim, and that it is thus sacred, and that the prophet used to kiss it.

One is left wondering:
Have they not read the Qur’an?

Allah informs us through His Words in the Qur’an, that prophet Ibrahim destroyed all the stone (idols) that his people were worshipping and said:

Do you then worship besides Allah what does not benefit you in any way nor harm you?” (Qur’an 21:66)

How could anyone in their proper sense of mind accept a dubious saying that is in total violation of the Qur’an?

How could anyone believe that the prophet could have ever kissed, and thus idolised a stone that has no power to “benefit” or “harm” anybody?

But that is not all, some flagrant hadith claim that the black stone will come to life on Judgement day and then develop two eyes and a tongue and will testify in favour of those who touched it in sincerity!

Ibn Abbas narrated that:
The Messenger of Allah said about the (Black) Stone: “By Allah! Allah will raise it on the Day of Resurrection with two eyes by which it sees and a tongue that it speaks with, testifying to whoever touched it in truth.

Source Link:

This is absolutely ridiculous. Tirmidhi has blatantly lied against Allah and prophet Muhammad. The prophet certainly did not say such filth.

The filthy people who had attributed such a disgusting lie to the prophet, even had the nerve to classify it as ‘hasan’ (safe).

Needless to say, there is no mention whatsoever in the Qur’an about a blessed stone that has descended from heaven, nor that we should touch a stone in sincerity or that a stone can actually erase people’s sins. If these millions of misguided so-called Muslims would only believe the Qur’an, they would know that stones don’t have any power to harm us or benefit us

Do you then worship beside God what does not benefit you in any way nor harm you? (Qur’an 21:66).

It is also a sad sight today at the Ka’baa to see hundreds of people adhering their bodies to the walls of the Ka’baa, thinking that the walls of the Ka’baa will bless them. Again, I shake my head in utter shame at the stupidity of such an act.
The scenes at the location of the ‘black stone’ are abhorrent.

In front of the ‘black stone’ there is a line drawn on the ground. This line is intended as a marker from which people could keep count of each lap they have completed.

However, it is indeed a truly sad sight to see the people raising their hands in awe in the direction of the ‘black stone’ every time they passed the line!

Some were even praying on the line itself in total awe of the ‘black stone’!

Once again, have they not read the Quran?
Say ‘Do you worship beside God what does not posses any harm, nor benefit for you?” (Qur’an 5:76)

Allah has revealed:

And they worship besides Allah things that hurt them not, nor profit them, and they say: “These are our intercessors with Allah.” Say: “Do you inform Allah of that which He knows not in the heavens and on the earth?” Glorified and Exalted be He above all that which they associate as partners with Him! (Qur’an 10:18)

It is absolutely clear without a doubt then, that these filthy beasts that concocted this fairy tale of a hadith, concerning the Black Stone coming alive on the Day of Resurrection, is trying to say to Allah that:
They know what Allah does not and they are informing Allah about the Black Stone, things that which He Himself has no idea, and has never even stated it Himself in the Qur’an!

Those filthy, lying animals!

The following are some of the outrageous hadith which form the basis for such an idolatrous ritual:

1. “Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The Black Stone came down from Jannah (Paradise).”

(At-Tirmidhi, Sunan, hadith no. 877, and classified as authentic hadith by Sheikh Al-Albaani in his book Sahih At-Tirmidthi, hadith no. 695 )

2. “Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When the Black Stone came down from Paradise, it was whiter than milk, but the sins of the sons of Adam made it black.”

(At-Tirmidhi, Sunan)

3. “Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “By Allah, Allah will bring it forth on the Day of Judgment, and it will have two eyes with which it will see and a tongue with which it will speak, and it will testify in favor of those who touched it in sincerity.”

(At-Tirmidhi, Sunan)

4. “Ibn `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) quoted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as saying: “Touching them both [the Black Stone and Ar-Rukn Al-Yamani] is an expiation for one’s sins.”

(At-Tirmidhi, Sunan, hadith no. 959. This hadith is classified as hasan by At-Tirmidhi and as Sahih by Al-Hakim (1/664), and Adh-Dhahabi agreed with him.)

5- “Narrated ‘Abis bin Rabia: ‘Umar came near the Black Stone and kissed it and said “No doubt, I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit anyone nor harm anyone. Had I not seen Allah’s Apostle kissing you I would not have kissed you.”

Sahih Bukhari 2:26:667, also Sahih Bukhari 2:26:657 and Sahih Muslim 7:2912-2915

I want you to turn your attention to the supposed claim made by Ibn Umar.

These filthy, lying Zoroastrians Persian Imaams of the aHadith, has attributed this hadith to Ibn Umar which says that:

“Narrated ‘Abis bin Rabia: ‘Umar came near the Black Stone and kissed it and said “No doubt, I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit anyone nor harm anyone. Had I not seen Allah’s Apostle kissing you, I would not have kissed you.”

Sahih Bukhari 2:26:667, also Sahih Bukhari 2:26:657 and Sahih Muslim 7:2912-2915

First of all, Allah would never contradict His own Words.

Allah has revealed many times in different verses:

Qur’an 5:92
Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and beware (of evil): if ye do turn back, know ye that it is Our Messenger’s duty to proclaim (the Message – Qur’an) in the clearest manner.

You shall obey only Allah and the Messenger.

Qur’an 24:54
Say: “Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger: but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance.

You shall obey only Allah and the Messenger.

Qur’an 4:13
And whoever obeys Allâh and His Messenger, Allâh shall admit him in the Gardens underneath which rivers flow.

You shall obey only Allah and the Messenger.

Qur’an 33:71
And whoever obeys Allâh and His Messenger, he has won a great success.

You shall obey only Allah and the Messenger.

If you still don’t get about what I am trying to stress here, it is this:
With regards to the religion of Islam, you shall obey ONLY Allah and the Messenger, and NO OTHER, NOT EVEN IBN UMAR.

The anti-Qur’an camp believe in this concocted Hadith so much that they have forgotten to ask themselves this:

Suppose you say that this Hadith is real, and Ibn Umar did indeed saw the prophet kissed the stone (I do not believe in the hadiths, remember that), did the prophet GAVE ANY CLEAR INSTRUCTION to Ibn Umar to do AS HE DID?

Ibn Umar only did based on what he SAW, and not on what the prophet had COMMANDED him to do.

Islam is not a religion that is based on ASSUMPTIONS.

If Ibn Umar was not clear whether he should kiss the stone, he should have asked the prophet DIRECTLY himself, instead of ASSUMING that, that is exactly what the prophet had wanted Ibn Umar to do in the first place!

But don’t worry. I believe that Ibn Umar was an intelligent man, unlike most of the 1.2 Billion so-called Muslims that can’t seem to think for themselves. As you would have known by now, I do not believe in any other Hadith other than the uncorruptible Hadith of God (The Word of God, in the Qur’an).

And I also do not believe that Ibn Umar would say such a thing as this is a concocted Hadith, created to systematically destroy what was left of the original, pure Islam, over time, by the six Zoroastrians Persian Imaams of the books of aHadith.

Islam is based on clear, simple instructions that once we are exposed to it, tells us that there can be absolutely NO DOUBT whatsoever, and that we absolutely without question, must adhere to, and do.

There is absolutely nothing in this concocted hadith that seems to suggest that the prophet wanted Ibn Umar to kiss the Black Stone, too.

And remember this,

But the prophet has passed away.

So, we are left with only God, the Ever-Lasting, and the Qur’an.

Clear Conclusion:
Most of the 1.2 Billion so-called Muslims that have performed the Hajj Pilgrimage, are actually meteorite worshippers, following a concocted and fabricated, man-made, fairytale hadith.

Sometimes, I have to wonder again:

Do anyone from the 1.2 Billion so-called Muslims of this world, actually read the Qur’an?

What is even more important is, do they actually understand what they read?

Stoning to the Devil Corruption

There is no verse in the Quran which says Stoning of the Devil is part of the Pilgrimage.

According to  hadiths, the positions of the three pillars are supposed to be the places from where  Devil tried to tempt and misguide Prophet Abraham three times into disobeying Allah Almighty by dissuading Abraham from carrying out Allah’s order.

But each time Prophet Abraham  felt the presence of the devil trying to lure him, Gabriel told him to respond by throwing a stone (or stones) at Devil. Thus, the Devil failed to distract Abraham. It is said that the location of the three pillars at Mina where Devil stood, attempting to mislead Abraham.

For this reason pilgrims throw stones on the pillars. The pillars represent the places where Devil stood. Therefore, the purpose of throwing stones on the pillars is to express our contempt for the Devil where he was once said to have stood.

Keep in mind that this story and ritual is not contained in the Quran. It has its origin some other non-Quranic source.

The stoning is not a Quranic ritual of Pilgrimage (Read Quran- “The Heifer” chapter 2)

1- The devil is made of fire and thus cannot be touched by physical matter .

2- The devil is not sitting and waiting for to be stoned!

“Do not cause corruption on the earth,” (2:11)

Example of Hadith That Insult God

To follow are some examples of hadith which contain insults against God.

It may be useful to remind ourselves first with what God Almighty says about Himself in the Quran:

“No visions can encompass Him, but He encompasses all visions. He is the Compassionate, the Cognisant.” 6:103

“… There is nothing like Him, …” 42:11

When Moses asked to see God, God told him that he cannot see Him. 7:143

Now let us read some of the fabrications Bukhari and Moslem have in their books describing God and claiming it to be the words of the Prophet:

(1) God appears to His believers and they see Him as they see the full moon! (Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 529).

(2) God descends to the lower Heaven every night.

(3) God put His foot over Hell fire so it becomes full, (Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 78, Number 654).

(4) God shows his leg to the believers to recognize Him.

(5) God laughs as humans! (Moslem Book 1, Number 349).

(6) God has five fingers, on the first He puts Heaven, on the second finger He puts the Earth, on the third, He puts the trees, on the fourth He puts the water and the land and on the fifth He puts the rest of His creation.

(7) God has a mansion in Heaven and Muhammed is permitted to enter it three times a day.

These lies and fabrications are not widely publicised by Hadith Scholars because they expose the true Bukhari. These Hadiths also depict Islam to the Western reader as an archaic medieval religion that is the fiction of desert nomads! Can anyone blame them when  read such hadith then knowing that hadith forms the backbone of the Islam that is practised in the world today?

Was Phophet Muhammad Illiterate ?

The verse 7:158 states that Muhammad was a gentile:

“So you shall believe in God and His messenger, the gentile (ummy) prophet.”

1: having little or no education; especially: unable to read or write <an illiterate population>
2 a : showing or marked by a lack of familiarity with language and literature <an illiterate magazine>
b : violating approved patterns of speaking or writing
3: showing or marked by a lack of acquaintance with the fundamentals of a particular field of knowledge.

The word Ummy clearly means “Gentile,” or one who does not follow scripture (Torah, Injeel) [see 2:78, 3:20 & 75, 62:2]; it does NOT mean “illiterate.”

Let’s examine the true meaning of “ummy” in the Quran. Anyone can easily understand that “ummy” does not mean an illiterate person by reflecting on the verse 3:20 below:

“And say to those who received the scripture, as well as those who did not receive any scripture (ummyyeen)…”

It is obvious that “ummy” does not mean illiterate because it has been used as the antonym of the people of the scripture. If the verse was” … And say to those literate and illiterate”, then their above translation of “ummy” would be correct.

According to the verse 3:20 the people of Arab peninsula were two main groups:

  1. The people of the scripture, i.e., Jews and Christians.
  2. Gentiles, who did not receive any scripture.

If the people who were neither Jews nor Christians were called “ummyyeen” (3:20; 3:75), then the meaning of “ummy” is very clear. As a matter of fact, the verse 3:75 clearly explains its meaning as gentile.

Mecca was the cultural center of the Arabs in the 7th century. Poetry competitions were being held there. It is a historical fact that Meccans were not familiar with the Injeel and Taurat , thus they were gentiles. So the verse 62:2 describes Meccan people by the word “ummyyeen”:

“He is the One who sent to the gentiles (ummyyeen) a messenger from among them, to recite to them His revelations, purify them, and teach them the scripture and wisdom. Before this, they had gone far astray.” (62:2)

The Quran does not classify the people of Arab peninsula as the literate and the illiterate, as Muslim scholars claim. The Quran classifies the people as people of the book (Jews & Christians) and gentiles. The second classification is the correct one, and the Quran supports it.

The disbelievers claimed that Muhammad was quoting verses from the Old and New Testaments (25:5; 68:15). The verse below refutes their accusation and gives the answer:

“You did not read any previous scriptures, nor did you write them with your hand. In that case, the objectors would have had reason to harbor doubts.” (29:48)

This verse tells us that Muhammad did not read nor write previous scriptures. The word “min qablihi = previous” proves that Muhammad read and wrote the final scripture.

After this examination on the true meaning of the word “ummy”, here are the reasons and proofs for the fact that Muhammad was a literate gentile:

ˆ To magnify the miraculous aspect of the Quran, religious people thought that the story of illiteracy would be alluring.

ˆ The producer of the illiteracy story found it easy to change the meaning of “ummy”, which in the entire Quran, consistently means “gentile” (2:78; 3:20; 3:75; 62:2).

ˆ The Arabs of the 7th century were using letters as numbers. This alphabetical numbering system is called “Abjed”. The merchants of those days had to know the letters of the alphabet to record their account. If Muhammad was a successful international merchant, then he most probably knew this numbering system. The Arabs stopped using the “Abjed” system in the 9th century when they took “Arabic numbers” from India.

ˆ Traditional history books accept that Muhammad dictated the Quran and controlled its recording. Even if we accept that Muhammad did not know how to read or write before revelation of the Quran, we can not claim that he preserved his illiteracy during 23 years while he was dictating the Quran.

ˆ The first revelation was “Read,” and the first five verses of that revelation encourage reading and writing (96:1-5). The second revelation was “The pen and writing” (68:1).

  1. a) As you can see in verse 3:20 and 3:75, the Quran uses the word “ummy” as the antonym of the “ehlil kitab = people of the book”. Do you believe that Quran classifies people as literate and illiterate?
  2. b) The Quran describes Meccan people with the word “ummyyeen = gentiles” (62:2). According to traditional Muslims claim, all Meccan people must have been illiterate. According to their hadith books, who was writing poems in Mecca? Who was reading the poems hanging on the walls of the Kaba?
  3. c) Which numbering system were the Arabs using in the 7th century? Did those who were making calculations with those numbers know how to read and write?
  4. d) Is the unique spelling in the Quran the result of errors and personal opinions? How do Traditional Muslims explain the different spelling of “bism” of the Basmalah and the first verse of chapter 96?
  5. e) Does God command an illiterate man to “read”? Could Muhammad read after Gabriel’s instruction? Does this story not contradict Traditional Muslims claim that Muhammad died an illiterate?
  6. f) Let us accept that Muhammad was illiterate before the revelation of the Quran. Why did he insist on staying illiterate for 23 years after the first revelation: “Read !”? Did he not obey his Lord’s command? Did he receive another command forbidding him from reading and writing?
  7. g) Was it so difficult for Muhammad to learn to read and write? If a person still does not learn to read and write after 23 years of careful dictation of a book, what do you think about such a person? Is he stupid or a liar?
  8. h) Was Muhammad encouraging his followers to read and write? If so, why did he exclude himself? How do you explain this strange attitude and verse 2:44?
  9. i) How can an illiterate man insure the accuracy of a scribe?
  10. j) Traditional Muslims are trying to imitate Muhammad from his eating to his attire, from his beard to his toothbrush; why do you not imitate his illiteracy? Why do they not follow his sunnah?
  11. k) Traditional Muslims are the people who disagree on almost every subject; but they agree on the story of the illiteracy of Muhammad. How could they manage this agreement?

Quranic Law Versus Sharia Law

But if they turn away from you, your only duty is a clear delivery of the Message. (Qur’an 16:82)

Say: ‘Whatever good betides you is from God and whatever evil betides you is from your own self and that We have sent you to mankind only as a messenger and all sufficing is God as witness. Whoso obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys God. And for those who turn away, We have not sent you as a keeper.’ (Qur’an 4:79-80)

And tell my servants that they should speak in a most kindly manner. Verily, Satan is always ready to stir up discord between men; for verily; Satan is mans foe…. Hence, we have not sent you with power to determine their Faith. (Qur’an 17:53-54)

Say: “Obey God, and obey the Messenger, but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance. The Messenger’s duty is only to preach the clear (Message). (Qur’an 24:54)

And so, exhort them your task is only to exhort; you cannot compel them to believe. (Qur’an 88:21-22)

You are not a keeper over them. But if they turn aside from you, for We have not sent you to be a keeper over them; your task is but to preach. (Qur’an 42:48)

Obey God then and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, for the duty of Our Messenger is just to deliver the message. (Qur’an 64:12)

And when they hear vain talk, they turn away there from and say: “To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you: we seek not the ignorant,” It is true thou wilt not be able to guide whom thou loves; but God guides those whom He will and He knows best those who receive guidance. (Qur’an 28:55-56)

Assuredly, We have sent down the Book to you in right form for the good of man. Whoso guided himself by it does so to his own advantage, and whoso turns away from it does so at his own loss. You certainly are not their keeper. (Qur’an 39:41)

And they ask, “When shall the promise be fulfilled if you speak the Truth?” Say, “The knowledge of it is verily with God alone, and verily I am but a plain warner…” (Qur’an 67:25-26)

As we can clearly see, many of the verses that talk about obeying the Prophet also emphasize the Prophet’s limited authority, something that most Muslims from the Sunni and Shia sects do not recognize. According to them, their ruler has the authority to punish people for what they consider sins like drinking alcohol, eating pork, not fasting during Ramadan, watching porn, etc.

The Quran meanwhile focuses on crimes against another like stealing, killing, slandering of women falsely and oppression. It gave the believers the right to fight against those who fight them but not to transgress. It also gave people the right to defend themselves against evictions from their lands. There is no talk about punishing people for something that does not concern somebody else’s right.

Adultery is the only place where the Quran diverted from this due to the fact that adultery affects another party. The Quran sees adultery as affecting the other partner in a marriage. It’s a betrayal and a breaking of an oath. But even then it placed very strict standards on that but was lenient when it came to punishing slanderers of women. Adultery needs four witnesses but the slanderer can get punished just from opening his mouth without having four witnesses. It’s clear that the verse made it very difficult to implement on adultery but very easy to implement on the slanderer. Thus why we see that the verses about adultery in chapter 24 are in fact dealing with slandering and not adultery. The Quran wanted to end slandering most likely because of the very common honor killing traditions in tribal societies back then. The Quran gave a symbolic penalty for adultery since any person would lie even under oath when facing lashes. The Quran allowed people to utter disbelief when under duress (16:106), so it knows people will lie to avoid lashing. A slanderer meanwhile needs to produce four witnesses or the penalty of flogging can fall on him. Which means he will have to lie when asked even if he saw something. The truth here is not relevant. Even when a spouse has witnessed something he has to swear but the other party also can swear. Most people as we know will simply lie to avoid the punishment since the punishment of this kind has torment in it. The person can simply repent instead. To make up for this we have the verses in chapter 4 which is the more practical way of dealing with it. The Quran here established that adultery is a major sin but made the penalty for it unpracticable. Its four times easier for a slanderer to get himself in trouble than an adulterer.

Further reading of the verses about the Zani (male adulterer) and Zania (female adulterer) shows us that the issue came up concerning slandering of one of the prophet’s wife presumably.

Nonetheless, the Quran cannot order the Prophet to punish people for sins, that God’s job. The Quran gave people the right and freedom to disbelieve let alone sin. How the Quran understands sins is very different than how Sunnis and Shias understand sins.

But the Sunnah (hadiths) claimed otherwise. The Sunnah are the oral traditions claimed by Muslims to be the word and deeds of Muhammad that were compiled some two centuries after Muhammad’s death. Muslims claim that Muhammad received two revelations from God, one is the Quran the other they claimed are his personal saying and actions collected by later Islamic authorities (oral traditions). The Muslims believe that the Sunnah has legal authoritiy and are binding and place a Quran like role when it comes to authority if not more. Almost 90% of Sharia law comes from there. In it the prophet was ordered to fight the people till they acknowledge monotheism and also in it the prophet ordered the execution of those who apostate. That’s why they abrogated many of the verses that limited his authority. Rather than question the hadiths (oral traditions) that claim the prophet believed he can coerce people to follow and obey him, they abrogated the verses of the Quran that contradicted those hadiths. Then they simply transferred that authority to the Muslim ruler by default. The Ridda war story about Abu Bakr (Muhammad’s companion) is a case study of this. In that story Abu Bakr apparently fought people for not paying the Zakat which is a charity prescribed in the Quran. Now this absolute authority was transferred from God to the prophet to one of his companions. This made it very easy to then transfer that authority to the ruler. This is why you see places where Shariah law is implemented filled with such concepts like searching cars for alcohol or flogging people for watching porn or not wearing proper attire. None of this should concern anyone but it has become a punishable sin. Muslims believe God only punishes those who did not get caught in this life and punished in this world. Muslims claimed that once punished the sin falls away and disappears. You will not find such a concept in the Quran. There God punishes in a million ways and does not need humans to punish for him. Muslims most likely introduced this concept to make people more accepting of this by making them think its better for them since God’s punishment is more severe. They also introduced stoning the adulterer by claiming the Zina (adultery) verse in the Quran is concerning fornication and not adultery. They claimed that the verse about stoning was lost and is not included in the Quran but the ruling remains.

One thing is crystal clear from all this. The Quran’s take on human authority and freedom is radically different than how the traditional Sunni/Shia sects understand it. Therefore the biggest difference between a Quranic state and a “Islamic” state will come in the form of the state’s authority over the masses. It is this, more than anything else, that separates the Quran from the Sunnah/Hadith.

The Concept of Jihad

One of the most manipulated concepts in Islam today is the concept of Jihad. The Quranic definition of the word Jihad has sadly been replaced by a false blood thirsty definition. The false version of Jihad violates numerous clear cut Quranic verses and is being used by various terrorist organisations to spread their various terrorist acts in the name of Islam. These terrorist acts, which occur all over the world, are ones of indiscriminate killing of innocent people. They are being undertaken in the name of Jihad. Ultimately, these totally non-Islamic criminal acts have gone a long way towards distorting the image of Islam throughout the world.

As with any religious concept, its correct definition can only be derived from the Scripture and not from interpretations or teachings of humans. To fully understand the Quranic concept of Jihad, it is essential to address the following issues:

1- The Quranic definition of the word Jihad

2- What is ‘The cause of God’?

3- Are the brain washed youths who explode themselves in ‘suicide bombings’ really going to Heaven as they have been led to believe?

4- Does the concept of a ‘Holy War’ have Quranic authorisation?

The Quranic definition of the word Jihad

The literal definition of the word Jihad is: striving to achieve a goal, while the Quranic definition of the word is: striving with one’s self and one’s money in the cause of God. This definition is confirmed in a number of Quranic such as:

Rather, the believers are those who believed in God and His messenger then had no doubt and strived (jahadu) with their money and their lives in the cause of God. These are the truthful ones. (Qur’an 49:15)

Those who believed, emigrated and strove (jahadu) in the cause of God with their money and their lives hold the greatest rank with God; those are the winners. (Qur’an 9:20)

However, the messenger and those who believed with him, they strove (jahadu) with their money and their lives. Those shall have good things, and it is those who are the winners. (Qur’an 9:88)

P.S –  The word ‘jahadu’ is the past tense verb of the noun Jihad.

The Cause of God

After establishing that Jihad means to strive with one’s self and one’s money in the cause of God, it is necessary to determine what is the Quranic meaning of the phrase: the cause of God?

Striving to uphold the cause of God simply means striving to uphold all God’s commandments and all God’s prohibitions. Jihad is to preach and uphold God’s path and God’s Law.
Does the Quranic Jihad support violence and killing innocent people in the name of Islam? This matter can be resolved by consulting a number of relevant Quranic verses.

1- First, it is important to always be aware of a principle Quranic proclamation which states that God never advocates sin:

Say, “God does not command sin. Are you saying about God what you do not know?” (Qur’an 7:28)

2- The Quran states categorically that killing any innocent soul is a gross sin:

You shall not kill any person, God has prohibited that except in the course of justice. (Qur’an 6:151) and (Qur’an 17:33)

The prohibition against the killing of any innocent soul has always been the law of God, in the Quran and in all previous Scriptures:

We decreed for the Children of Israel that whoever kills a person but not for another life, nor for committing corruption in the land, it shall be as if he killed all the people. 5:32

3- God does not allow war except in the case of self defence:

If they leave you alone, refrain from fighting you, and offer you peace, then God gives you no claim against them. (Qur’an 4:90)

If they should incline to peace, so shall you be inclined and put your trust in God. He is the Hearer, the Knowledgeable. (Qur’an (8:61)

Do not aggress; God does not like the aggressors. (Qur’an 5:87)

4- God commands that there will be no compulsion in religion:

There shall be no compulsion in religion. (Qur’an 2:256)

For you is your religion, and for me is my religion. (Qur’an 109:6)

Had your Lord willed, all the people in the earth, in their entirety, would have believed, so are you to force the people to become believers? (Qur’an 10:99)

The commands in the above verses are very clear. Faith and the religion cannot be enforced on any person but is the voluntary decision of each person. This truth is once again confirmed in the following verses:

Say, “It is the truth from your Lord”, then whoever wills shall believe and whoever wills shall disbelieve. (Qur’an 18:29)

So you shall remind, for you are but a reminder.

You are not a controller over them. (Qur’an 88:21-22)

The message of no compulsion in religion is clear in all the above verses.

5- Quran advocates pardon, forgiveness and tolerance towards those who do not choose to follow Islam:

Tell those who believe to forgive those who do not seek the days of God, for He will repay people for what they have earned. (Qur’an 45:14)

The Quran condemns the killing or even the persecution of people merely because they embrace a different religion. The Quran mandates absolute freedom of religion among all people. Respect and mutual co-existence must be exercised with those of other religions. The Quran urges Muslims to treat such people kindly and equitably:

With regards to those who have not fought you because of religion, nor driven you out of your homes, God does not forbid you from treating them kindly and being equitable towards them. God loves the equitable. (Qur’an 60:8)

The above verses establish the clear truth that the Quran prohibits all violence, unlawful killing and forcing others into Islam.

The killing of innocent people around the world by the hands of terrorist groups is a violation of all the verses quoted above.

Are the ones who explode themselves in ‘suicide bombs’ really going to Paradise as they have been led to believe?

Suicide is a state of disbelief and loss of faith that is condemned by God throughout the Quran. In the Quran, God commands the believers never to despair or lose hope but instead have faith in God and work for a brighter future:

None despairs of God’s Spirit other than the disbelieving people. (Qur’an 12:87)

Sadly, many youths who get drafted into one of the terrorist groups, are completely brain washed into believing that upon exploding themselves they die as martyrs and are sent directly to Paradise! Young male youths, who are easy prey for the devious politically motivated preachers, are totally brain washed into believing that beautiful virgins are waiting for them in Paradise!

Those who kill innocent people in the name of Islam or in the name of God, and who think of themselves as martyrs, should think twice. Their act is categorically condemned by God as per the Quranic verses below. These people are disobeying God’s commandments by upholding the sinister teachings of their leaders!

And you shall spend in the cause of God and do not throw yourselves with your own hands into destruction. You shall do good; God loves the good-doers. (Qur’an 2:195)

O you who believe, do not consume each others’ money illicitly, but only engage in mutually acceptable transactions. You shall not kill yourselves. God is Merciful towards you.

Whoever does so, out of aggression and injustice, We will roast him in the fire. This is easy for God to do. (Qur’an 4:29-30)

As per all the Quranic verses presented, we can thus conclude the following:

1- Killing an innocent soul is a great sin in the sight of God (Qur’an 6:151, 17:33)

2- Suicide in any form is condemned by God (Qur’an 4:30)

3- The Quran does not promise Paradise to those who commit suicide but rather warn of great retribution (Qur’an 4:30)

Is the concept of ‘Holy War’ endorsed in the Quran?

Various terrorist groups portray Jihad as a ‘Holy War’. The media in the west has unfortunately been sucked up into accommodating or at least reporting this false interpretation.

In Quran terminology, the phrase ‘Holy War’ does not exist anywhere in the Book. The Quran promotes peace rather than war. The word Islam is a derivative of the word ‘salam’ which means peace.

The option of war is allowed only in the case of self defence. This stems from the fact that the Quran instructs opposition to aggression and oppression. Whenever there is a possibility to avoid war, that possibility must be pursued.

You shall prepare for them all the power and cavalry that you can muster and with which you may terrify the enemies of God, your enemies, as well as others besides them whom you don’t know, but God knows them. Whatever you spend in the cause of God will be repaid to you in full, you shall not be wronged.

If they should incline to peace, so shall you be inclined and put your trust in God. He is the Hearer, the Knowledgeable. (Qur’an 8:60-61)
Permission (to fight) has been granted to those who are being attacked since they have been treated unjustly. God is Capable of granting them victory.

They are the ones who have been evicted from their homes unjustly and for no reason other than saying, “Our Lord is God.” If it were not that God repels people by means of one another, monasteries, churches, synagogues and masjids, where the name of God is commemorated frequently, would have been destroyed. Absolutely, God will grant victory to those who support Him. God is Powerful, Dignified. (Qur’an 22:39-40)

The case made in the Quran for war as seen is in the case of self defence. Fighting an oppressor or aggressor is fighting against oppression or aggression, thus, it is fighting for justice. Therefore, in this sense only, it is fighting in the cause of God.

You shall fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not aggress; God does not like the aggressors. (Qur’an 2:190)

Fighting oppression ‘in the cause of God’ is also the subject of (Qur’an 4:75)

Therefore, the ones who seek to trade this world for the hereafter shall fight in the cause of God. Whoever fights in the cause of God, then gets killed, or attains victory, We shall grant him a great reward.

And why would you not fight in the cause of God when the oppressed men, women, and children are saying: “Our Lord, take us out of this town whose people are oppressive, and grant us in You an Ally, and grant us in You a Supporter.” (Qur’an 4:74-75)

To conclude, it is quite clear that the word Jihad has been badly manipulated by those with a hidden agenda and their own political aims. They are acting in violation of Quranic law. The word ‘Holy’ has never been used in the Quran in connection with war. There simply is no reference anywhere in the Quran for what they call ‘Holy War’.

There are times when war is permitted, but as we have seen in all the Quranic words, it is only permitted as a practise of self defence, and even in such circumstances, it is not called a ‘Holy War’. Islam revolves around the concept of peace:

If they should incline to peace, so shall you be inclined and put your trust in God. He is the Hearer, the Knowledgeable. (Qur’an 8:61)

Will Jews and Christians Go To Hell?

There is no prescription in the Quran about whether Jews and Christians, who still stick to their creed after the revelation of the Quran, are doomed and will go to hell or will not be admitted to paradise, contrary to the pronouncements of the sectarians.

“Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; they will have their recompense with their Lord, and there is no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.” (Qur’an 2:62)

The fact that one can marry Jews and Christians, that the state of affliction among the Muslims in the wake of the war lost by the Christians in the verse “The Romans” show how the mentality that condemns them to hell contradicts the Quran. It is to be also noted that not all Jews and Christians have strayed, there are many that “upright” as God tells us:

“They are not all the same, from the people of the Book are a nation that is upright; they recite the revelations of God during the night hours and they prostrate.” (Qur’an 3:113)
